Woohitike (bravery)
"Having or showing courage"
In January we focused our attention on heroes who have demonstrated bravery.
*Martin Luther King, Jr. - Standing up for his beliefs in a society that was hateful towards Civil Rights.
*Ruby Bridges - An African American first grader who attended an all white school amidst anger-filled protests. Daily, Ruby would pray for the adults who would spit on her and shout hate phrases as she walked to school.
*Rosa Parks - Tired of being treated unfairly, Rosa took a stand against unfair laws and risked punishment and more.
