Personal Heroes

A personal hero is a person who is considered a hero to you but not necessarily others.  Often moms, dads, grandparents, and close friends act as heroes in our lives. 

Hero card process:
1.  Discuss what it means to be a personal hero.  Review heroes chart.  Add thinking to chart.
2.  As homework, students interview their personal hero.  (Personal Hero Interview Form)
3.  During a 1-on-1 conference, student and teacher discuss what the student learned in the interview.  Teacher and student work together to type the synthesized information from the interview onto the hero card template. (Personal Hero Card Template)
4.  Once printed, students illustrate an image of their personal hero.
5.  Cards are then cut, backed on cardstock, and laminated.
